Cool Dead USB Reloaded with Serial Port Success

      Hope this helps someone else,
I'm not new to this so not looking for a critique, Just showing how I did it.

Bought a 3rd SV8000HD off ebay, Guy said it worked...Powered on Yes.
No USB port and it had the "Please update your software" nag as well.
Tried Active usb device No-GO, no matter what USB is DOA...

Moving on to Software Serial port loader.
Null modem cable(crossover) standard vanilla Windows 7 PC
com 1, Speed 115200 , 8,N,1 Settings (none for flow control)
      Loaded Loader V2.01
made sure com 1 port settings in Device manager matched above.
clicked connect and tried the STB id button, Error.
Hmmm, Remembered back in the day about cycle the power for the file to load..?
Went ahead and picked the SySclean file. Dialog box pops up waiting with a progress bar.. Flipped ON the back power switch and YES indeed file began to transfer..
after it was finished transferring the file (wacky)the ID button did work and reported the model,Boot & main Software versions..ALL GOOD

Success, Cleaned, loaded factory file. Watching Velocity Channel In HD 1080i

Was a Throw back before SPOONS..:1st

Notes: I used a breakout box to see the port lights on the PC and SV serial ports, it was easy to see they where connected. ie (20)DTR ,(4)RTS and (2)TD & (3)RD pins and RS-232 signals. With NO CTS to start things off ,cycling the power jumps it into starting the file transfer. SO MAKE SURE YOU CYCLE the POWER.
Everything else is well documented everywhere (files, ihubs, wiznets etc.)
      Xmodem memories ,LOL.

      Good Luck.
